FUND FOR NATIONAL AND REGIONAL ROADS OF THE

FOREIGN HELP
Through the EU programs in Macedonia in the transport sector the following projects have been realized:
- Construction of the Highway E-75 Gevgelija – border crossing Bogorodica
- Construction and reconstruction of the border crossing Bogorodica and Megitlija
- Construction of the Motorway E-75 Negotino-Demir Kapija phase II and III
- Preparation of a priority project for construction of the section E-75 Demir Kapija-Udovo-Smokvica
- Investments in the transport section, project realized within PHARE program and the EU
- Studies of transport TIRS and REBIS, financed through the European Commission. The Republic of Macedonia and the other countries from the region have understood the development of the transport network of the region.
- Study for reconstruction of the road sector was financed by EBRD with special accent on introduction of competition into the maintenance of the roads.
Study for development of the transport network in West Balkans (Japan Bank for International Cooperation – JBIC )
The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) together with Japan’s Official Development Assistance – ODA Program have initiated pilot study of project for development of the transport network in West Balkans(JBIC). The study has an aim to designate the priority projects of transport in West Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro ) as possible projects for financing by The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) as well as an exchange of opinions of the target groups (countries) in relation to the financial help from Japan. The financial help includes the possibility for credit financing with favorable soft credits, i.e. favorable terms of repayment, with what will be enabled implementation of the projects in future.
The Loan Projects JIBIC - ODA ( The Japan Bank for International Cooperation – JBIC and Japan’s Official Development Assistance – ODA Program) have to contribute for socio-economic development and reduction of the poverty, possibility of usage of soft credits with rate of interest from 0.5% to 2% , grace period of up to 10 years and repayment period of up to 40 years.
